The average household spends between $100 and $200 on their back to school shopping. We are here to show you how to save more than 50% on your purchase! Many times even more than 75% of the cost.

Here's a few tips to get you started:

1. Take inventory at home first. See what you already have, then compile your list

2. Stick to your list. Only buy what you need and make a budget for what you want to spend.

3. Sign up for your favorite stores rewards programs and email list. You can earn rewards for items you have already spent, making your next purchase free. And email alerts tell you what items are on sale that week.

4. Shop around and compare deals. You still have time to comparison shop and get the most for your money.

5. Don’t hesitate to look in your grocery story for school items. Notebooks and pens may be cheaper at a supermarket and these stores generally allow manufacturers and store coupons to sweeten the deal.

6. If you find a good deal, buy in bulk for the entire year. For example, you know you will need notebooks all year. If you find 10 cent notebooks, buy enough for the year.

7. Wait for the big upcoming sales weekends for instance Labor Day weekend. And the longer you wait, the greater the deal. Once school starts, you will see more deals.

8. Stay away from trendy products. For example: A Toy Story lunch box may be cute now but your son will grow out of it next year. Buy items that will last past the trend.

9. Remember to check all the free coupon sites. Coupons.com, Coupon Network, and Red Plum, are just a few great coupon websites. And you can find a lot of coupons on Facebook. “Like” your favorite stores and see what special offers they give to “friends”.

10. Plan a back to school swap. Family and friends may want to trade off school items or clothing they are no longer using. It’s a great way to recycle these types of items.

Last but not least (buy when items are on clearance this year for next year)! Many of our Back to School supplies are standard - notebooks, pencils, backpacks.. If you buy before you NEED them you will save more money!
