From March 26th – April 8th participating Panera Bread bakery-cafes will donate 10 cents to Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Illinois for every Easter Egg cookie sold for $2.25 a piece. These Easter Egg shaped sugar cookies make a great spring gift or Easter basket treat—and it’s for a great cause! Kick off the spring season this year with the cookie that “dough-nates”!

Panera Bread has adopted 20 wish children for 2012 and is looking to raise $100,000 to grant all 20 wishes. In 2011, Panera Bread raised $166,321 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Illinois, enough for 33 wishes which exceeded our goal of granting 20 wishes.

To give you some idea of who you might be helping locally from time to time as the promotion is going on I will be sharing with you some of the stories of local children who have or will be helped by the Make A Wish Foundation. Today I would like to share Keelie's story...

Keelie is a very bright and happy 13-year old girl from Round Lake Beach. Her favorite color is neon orange and she loves snacking on Honey Nut Cheerios, Honey BBQ Fritos and Mike & Ikes. Keelie loves to dance and sing and is a fan of all kinds of music. Keelie was diagnosed with 2 large AVM in her brain. This caused her to have an aneurysm which has greatly affected her left side especially her arm and leg and motor skills. Her AVM’s are inoperable. She also suffers from seizures. However, Keelie has such a positive attitude and a great outlook for her future! When asked to wish BIG, Keelie wished to travel to Hawaii! Thanks to the incredible generosity of Panera Bread, their amazing customers and The-Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Illinois, Keelie’s wish will finally come true!
