In honor of Food Day, the City of Chicago’s Farmers Market Program will add a local Red Meat Market to their Daley Plaza Farmers Market on October 18, beginning at 7 a.m. The Daley Plaza Farmers Market will sell local fruits, vegetables and, for the first time, meat! While the Farmers Market will close at its normal time, the Red Meat Market will continue selling until 4 p.m. In addition to produce, the Red Meat Market will include chefs, butchers and other guest speakers throughout the day. Organizations that support Food Day will also be there to educate the public on the important health benefits of eating “real” food.
