There is a local company called Fight the Fight. Before I explain what it is, I want to share with you my backstory, so you will know why I am especially touched by the company.
I spent nearly every minute with my grandma. We were always together, a team. When I was around 10 years old my grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer. She did everything the doctors asked and recovered. Being so young, I don't remember this too well. However, when I was fifteen, my grandma's cancer returned. This time in many places. I remember everything from this time. She had to have numerous chemotherapy and radiation treatments. I remember the small expenses that would add up that people didn't think of. For her, it was the gas back and forth to Alton everyday. For someone on a tight budget, that was really a hardship. I remember thinking "if someone could just help her with the gas, at least her mind could rest a little." For other people there is the expense of babysitting, days off from work, and countless other day to day things that we wouldn't even think of. Of course the copays and bills are another thing....
A young guy from my town has founded a company that helps folks out with some of these medical expenses. Pete Visintin founded
"Fight the Fight: Clothing that Inspires." "It is a for-profit clothing company that donates 50% of all profits to individuals and families who have incurred large, unexpected medical expenses"

Simply put-You buy a t-shirt for $20.00, $10.00 goes to someone in need.
Pete was recently on the news to explain this company better.
