Buffalo Gals can't you come out tonight? Come out tonight? Come out tonight?.... If you know that song then you know what movie we watch every year around the holidays :) It's A Wonderful Life! My boyfriend has loved this movie for many years and must watch it around the holidays so now it is my tradition as well.
I wanted to surprise him last year with something different. I made him come to this show with no knowledge of where he was going. He was shocked to see the poster. He thought it was a play with scene changes, etc but in my opinion it was something much more intimate and fun. Don't get me wrong I love a good play and with a great cast you can be taken to any place they want you to be at that moment BUT this was something different. There are actors and they have memorized lines and there is a set but this is a play of a radio show. You see them but the "listeners" can only hear what is being said and done. So they need your help :) You are asked to write telegrams which may be read "on the air" There will be commercial too. Hilarious commercials performed live. My favorite part though is to watch the magic man as I like to call him- the sound effects guy. I found my self zoning out on the actual actors at times just listening to the story in the background and watching him create the sound effect that made it all come together. I think everyone should experience something like this if only once.
We loved loved loved the show and then as you leave..... You get MILK & COOKIES?! How awesome is that!
Here is a short video that you can view to see what I am describing above :) Click HERE.
Here is the press release which can answer some of the questions you may have :) I highly recommend this show if you can make it. It can be a great family outing or a nice date night with dinner at a near by restaurant.
