*Review* Choccreate - Create Your Own Chocolate

.

I love chocolate! So I was thrilled when Choccreate gave me the opportunity to try their website, where you can choose your own add-ins for chocolate bars! Here is what I ordered:

• White chocolate with brown sugar, real bacon bits, & Teddy Grahams.
• Milk chocolate with ground espresso, hazelnuts, & macadamia nuts.
• Dark chocolate with 23 karat gold powder, corn flakes, raspberries, & strawberries.

There was so much to choose from so it took me awhile to come up with my creations. I wanted to try something different, so I know my add-ins may seem a little odd, but all of my Choccreate bars were actually really good! The ground espresso with milk chocolate and fruit with dark chocolate were especially yummy! I also received my chocolate bars in a very timely manner, and was pleasantly surprised by the cute gift box they came in! I think these would make a great gift for Mother's Day or any special occasion!

Choccreate also has options for you to choose their best sellers, different selections, and healthy choices in case you're not sure what combinations to try. You can also get Choccreate gift certificates.

Disclosure: Choccreate did not compensate us in any way and all opinions expressed are our own honest opinions. Choccreate provided us with a gift certificate to receive their product for us to review.

* REVIEW & GIVEAWAY * Tony's Pizza Family Fun Kit Giveaway ($100 Value) (Ends 1/31 at 11:59 PM CST)

With a full house, we are always looking for a meal that everyone will find delicious and filling, as well as activities that we can do together as a family.  Well, Tony's Original Crust Pizza did just that!  We were given the opportunity to try out their pizza and boy did it go quickly in our home.  My kids enjoyed the cheese and sausage varieties the most.  I was lucky to even have a bite left for me to taste.  Tony's Original Crust Pizza is something that I would definitely recommend keeping on hand to serve as a meal, snack, or party treat.

In addition, we were given the opportunity to try out the pizza and roller skating family fun kit that one lucky reader will win.  My husband and I remember having the skating parties with our classmates and all the fun we had growing up going to the roller skating rink.  We were very excited to take our kids to the skating rink so they could give it a try.  At first, they were grasping onto the sides of the wall, inching their way across the rink.  Eventually they became more confident and after a while (and with the help of a roller skating walker device), they were on the rink on their own.  With the Tony's family fun pack, we were able to get excited by loading up some songs from iTunes and getting some gear from Dick's Sporting Goods, and especially filling our stomachs with Tony's Pizza before heading out.  We definitely created some great memories from our roller skating adventure and our kids can't wait until the next time.  The great thing is... we can take them for free the next time because we'll be buying the specially-marked packages of Tony's Original Crust Pizza that has the FREE roller skating coupons on them.  We already checked and our rink is part of that program.

Treat your family to your own night of roller skating fun by purchasing the specially-marked packages of Tony's Original Crust Pizza with the coupons for the free roller skating admission.  You can find out which rinks are participating here.  You can also print out a coupon for $1.00 off any 2 Tony's Pizzas.  We were able to purchase them for a good price at Walmart.  Check your local stores to find the best deals.

We are happy to be able to give one (1) lucky My Chicago Mommy reader a Tony's Pizza and Roller Skating Family Fun Kit, which includes all the essentials you’ll needed for a fun-filled pizza night, and trip to your local roller rink, including iTunes gift card (nothing goes with roller skating like good music), gift card to a sporting goods store (to purchase a new helmet or other gear) and more (approximately $100 value).

*GIVEAWAY & REVIEW* Morton Safe-T-Pet™ Ice Melt Prize Pack (Ends 1/23 at 11:59 pm CST)

.

Morton Safe-T-Pet™ is Morton Salt’s newest ice melter that was developed with veterinarians. It is for those consumers specifically looking to provide a safer winter environment for their pets. Morton Safe-T-Pet™ is made with an organic compound used for vegetation, making it less irritating to animals than salt-based ice melters. It is salt-free, chloride free, and non-toxic ice melter which is safer to use around pets than rock salt.

For more information about Morton Salt, Inc. and Morton ice melter products, visit www.mortonmelters.com.

Morton Salt provided me with some Morton Safe-T-Pet™ to try, and I was honestly impressed with how well it worked! I put it down a little bit after it had started snowing and the ice melt went right through the snow. As is kept snowing outside, I was able to tell where the ice melt was because there was only a thin layer of snow compared to the inches of snow everywhere else! And I loved that I was able to put the Morton Safe-T-Pet™ down at the back of the house without worrying about my dog getting to it when we'd let him out.

We are happy to be able to give one (1) lucky My Chicago Mommy reader a Morton Safe-T-Pet Prize Pack, which includes:
- An 8 lb. jug of Morton Safe-T-Pet
- An insulated tote bag
- A Morton Salt fleece travel blanket

*Review & Giveaway* Tassimo Bosch T20 Home Brewing System (Ends 1/9 at 11:59 pm CST)

.

What better way to start off 2011 than a great giveaway! I drink coffee ALL THE TIME, so I was so excited to be able to try out the Tassimo T20 Brewer! I will be the first to admit that I've had my fair share of coffee-makers, and I'm a bit challenged when it comes to small appliances, but this brewer is the EASIEST coffee-maker I've ever used! It's as easy as pouring the water in the back, turning the machine on, popping the T-disc in, & pushing a button...and, voila! You've got coffee! The only drawback is that it makes single servings so it wouldn't be ideal if you had company over and more than 1 person wanted a hot beverage.

Here's some of the features of the Bosch T20 Home Brewing System:
- Makes over 40 varieties of coffee, tea, cappuccino, latte, crema, espresso and hot cocoa
- Makes drinks in about 1 minute
- Includes an exclusive flow–through water heater for faster, quieter brewing
- Space saving design ideal for apartments, dorm rooms and countertops
- Smart bar code technology allows the brewer to adjust each beverage with the proper temperature pressure and amount of water

We are happy to be able to give one (1) lucky My Chicago Mommy reader a Tassimo Bosch T20 Home Brewing System!

*REVIEW* Halo SleepSack

HALO was founded by Bill Schmid, who began researching sleeping environments after he lost a daughter to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) in 1991. Since 1994, HALO has worked to develop products that encourage healthier and safer sleeping as well as bring peace of mind to your home. The HALO SleepSack wearable blanket replaces loose blankets in the crib that can cover your baby's face and interfere with breathing. A percentage of HALO Innovations' profits are donated to charities that help in the fight against SIDS. HALO is also working with hundresds of hospitals nationwide via their Safer Way to Sleep Initiative to educate parents on safe sleep practices and provide HALO SleepSack wearble blankets to NICU and hospital nurseries to model safe sleep practices.

Melanie's Review:

We have a very active newborn, so when we put blankets on her or swaddle her with blankets, she usually kicks them off! The HALO SleepSack is great because she can't kick it off her since she wears it like a nightgown that closes up with a zipper. It's especially handy now that it's getting colder! The SleepSack is also made of a soft fleece material so it's very comfortable for her too! Now we can be sure that our little one stays warm & cozy during these cold winter nights!

HALO SleepSacks are now available in Target stores! Make sure to visit their website to view their whole selection of HALO SleepSacks & to learn more about SIDS prevention, and also follow them on Facebook & Twitter!

* REVIEW * "A Better World" Facebook App

I (Maria) had the opportunity to try out a new Facebook app called "A Better World." It's designed to allow you to share positive feelings with others!

You can customize your virtual person from everything from your face shape, to what shoes you are wearing.

You can leave a positive message for everyone to see and show what you are grateful for this Thanksgiving in the "Gratitude Grotto."

You can also use it to send a positive message to someone special via Facebook or the "A Better World" app.  You can also receive messages from others in the "Positive Post" option.

This was very easy to use and you can help but feel happy and uplifted once you've shared some happiness with your friends and family!  You'll probably want to spread the word once you've tried it.

Be sure to check out "A Better World" on Facebook!

* REVIEW * LEGO KidsFest at McCormick Place 10/29-10/31

My family and I had the opportunity to attend the LEGO KidsFest last night at McCormick Place and we all had a fun time! If you like to play with LEGOs or have someone at home that does, you will truly enjoy the experience.

Right away when we came in, we were greeted with a program outlining the events and booths they have set up there. There is also a coupon for $5 off a $50 purchase at the LEGO stores in the Chicagoland area. There is also a coupon for a FREE Child Admission with Paid Adult Admission for LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Schaumburg, IL. There is a coupon for a FREE Child Ticket with Paid Adult Ticket to LEGOLAND California and your choice of LEGOLAND Water Park or SEA LIFE Aquarium (great to use if you are planning a trip out there).  Plus, if you visit the LEGOLAND booth, you'll have a chance to win a trip to LEGOLAND California Resort.

There is a lot of activities at the LEGO KidsFest to keep you and your children busy during your time there.  There's many different stations where you can build your own creations.  At the LEGO Club booth, you can sign up for a FREE subscription to their magazine that they send out six times a year.  My boys participated in a Tall Tower building competition at the LEGO Activity Theater.  One of my sons was on the winning team and won a LEGO set and my other son won a LEGO key chain.

As you walk around, there are plenty of examples of what LEGO can be used for - from the intricate designs they have at the Model Museum to the LEGO Robotics that were designed by students, you will be awed.  They also have LEGO hobbyists who are showcasing their talents there.  In between all of those activities, your kids can play in some inflatable bouncers they have in different areas of the LEGO KidsFest.

Don't forget that if you attend the afternoon session tomorrow and your kids are dressed in their costumes, they will have treats and LEGO Halloween-themed activities.  You can purchase your tickets in advance on the LEGO KidsFest website.

Schwan’s Home Delivery offers more than 350 high quality items including fruits, vegetables, fish, meats, pizza and ice cream delivered directly to your freezer. It’s quick and easy to serve up a delicious meal the whole family will love in 30 minutes or less without spending time at the grocery store or slaving away in the kitchen.

With the kids back at school, Schwan’s Home Service, the largest frozen food delivery service in the country, would like to invite parents to a "date night" without leaving home. They launched a new line of Asian fusion cuisine in September, which make great at-home meals with a restaurant feel but stay-at-home prices! This new line of traditionally inspired Asian meals were created by Chef Jet Tila, who is well known for his interpretation of Asian cuisine, and are available exclusively through Schwan’s Home Service!

New meals include:
- Chicken Lo Mein
- Salmon Teriyaki (pictured above)
- Ginger Scallion Steamed Cod
- Thai Chicken Coconut Soup
- Drunken Noodles

My Review:

My husband & I love Asian food, and with a new baby in the house, we were thrilled when Schwan's gave us the chance to try all 5 meals at home! All of them were very easy to prepare (we were able to put the salmon & the cod in the microwave so it didn't even need to put on the stove), and they tasted like we had ordered in from a restaurant! My favorite was the Salmon Terriyaki and my husband's favorite was the Drunken Noodles. It was also very convenient to have the meals delivered right to our door!

We are happy to be able to give one (1) lucky My Chicago Mommy reader all 5 Asian meals from Schwan's Home Delivery!

* REVIEW & GIVEAWAY * Libman Freedom Mop Giveaway (ends 10/17 at 11:59 PM CDT)

Libman has come out with a mop called the "Freedom Mop."  Why is it called the Freedom Mop, you ask?  Because it gives you the:

- Freedom to choose any cleaning solution you want to put in: Your favorite cleaner, plain water, environmentally friendly solution etc. Removable bottle for easy filling.

- Freedom from costly and wasteful disposable pads- reusable microfiber pad can be machine washed up to 50 times. Safe on all flooring surfaces.

- Freedom from batteries- trigger sprayer allows you to control how much liquid is coming out

The best part is you can just grab and go, because there are no heavy messy buckets to lug around.

Some other things to note about the Freedom Mop:

- It is quality manufactured in the USA (Arcola, IL) by a 4th generation family owned company.

- It is sold fully assembled in the mop and broom section of your favorite store

- The Freedom Spray Mop is available at retailers nationwide with a suggested retail price of $19.99 to $24.99.

My Review:

I was given a Libman Freedom Mop to try out and I absolutely LOVE this mop!  With all the spills and clean ups we go through in our household of four kids, it is so convenient to be able to use any cleaning solution I need in this mop, whether it is just water or my own blend of cleaning agents.  I found it very easy to use and it maneuvers well.  It's light enough to get in many areas.  The spray also covers a good size area.

When we received it in the mail, the box was huge and taller than my girls so they were naturally curious as to what was inside.  Boy was I happy to see that it came fully assembled and ready to go!  The cleaning cloths are a good quality and can surely withstand many cleanings.  I used it on my hardwood floors and it was gentle enough to not leave any scratches or streaks.

I would highly recommend this mop to anyone that is tired of having multiple mops for multiple purposes and multiple cleaners to go along with those mops.  You can easily make space in your house by eliminating those and going with the Freedom Mop.  No batteries, no disposable pads, no extra cleaners necessary!

We are happy to be able to give one (1) lucky My Chicago Mommy reader a Libman Freedom Mop!
